So many things to say about Jaclyn + Alex’s wedding day, where do I begin?! They heard of me through our endless mutual friends, that when we finally met to discuss their wedding plans, and later shot their engagement last fall, it really felt like we had been friends forever. As such, there were so many familiar faces at their wedding, including another three of my past or future couples! (Hi, Emily + Nathaniel, Becca + Jacob & Elle + Vlad!)
My day started with Jaclyn, her bridesmaids and her family getting ready at their Powell home in the early morning hours – I joined them at 7:30am! The family is so sweet and kind, and I loved chatting photography with Jaclyn’s dad, a photographer himself. Then we headed down to Columbus, to Congregation Tifereth Israel, where their ceremony would take place. But first, Jaclyn and Alex got dressed and had their first look, followed by group portraits, right in front of the building, beneath weeping willow trees overlooking Broad Street. We then headed back inside for their bedeken and ketubah signing in the small chapel, before their formal ceremony under the chuppah in the main sanctuary.
After the ceremony, we traveled downtown to the Ohio Statehouse, the site of their reception. We were greeted with yummy brunch foods, a donut cake, and best entertainment in town – Conspiracy Band! Following the high-energy hora, and a surprise performance by alumni of the Jewish acapella group Meshuganotes, the Conspiracy Band kept guests on their feet and the party going all afternoon! I had a blast!!! I can’t thank Jaclyn + Alex enough for inviting me to capture their amazing wedding day!
Mazel Tov!
Amy–You captured so much love and joy! I’m sitting here weeping all over again (just like I did the day of). Fabulous!!!
Thank you so much! I was not able to attend and this made it possible for me to enjoy the beautiful wedding. Alex is so special, and this was wonderful to be able to see so much. I see the love between these two young people. They radiate with their love and it was caught on film. Thank you again! Joyce
