In January, I was so fortunate to be able to take 2 weeks with my husband and go on an adventure to Hawaii! I had never taken such a long vacation in my life, let alone done so many adventurous things! I conquered so many fears and witnessed tremendous beauty. We spent 3 nights in Oahu and the rest of the time was spent in Maui. I hiked like I’d never hiked before (fell badly two times!), watched a sunset at the top of a volcano, went shark cage diving, got sea sick, biked down a mountain, zip lined across seven valleys, swam in a natural pool that fed into the ocean, visited a black sand beach and a red sand beach, stayed in a cottage overnight, saw a million waterfalls, snorkeled in a quiet beach in a small island, watched whales breach from a sailboat, drove down windy dirt roads that seemed inches from the ocean, flew over several islands including a leper colony, rode on horseback, saw every star in the sky, sampled the craziest fruits ever at an organic fruit farm, and hiked to a cabin on the crater of a volcano and stayed there overnight completely off the grid! In capturing these moments, I switched back and forth between my Canon 5D Mark III (with 3 different lenses – 16-35 2.8, 50 1.2 and 70-200 2.8) and my GoPro, depending on how treacherous the hike and what was most convenient at the time. So these pictures don’t show *every* adventure. But it’s a great representation. Hawaii was more beautiful than I ever imagined.
