From the moment I met Jill and Chris, learned more about their wedding plans at the Columbus Zoo, and shot their super fun Short North engagement last summer, I was so looking forward to their wedding this June! Their wedding sure lived up to – and perhaps exceeded – my expectations! That’s because just one week before their wedding, they learned that they would not be able to use the lakeside pavilions they had booked at the zoo for their wedding, but instead, their wedding day would be moved to the Heart of Africa exhibit! The brand new facilities at this exhibit are amazing, with the most amazing private overlook of the animals! There was more than a few giraffe photobombs! We also had the opportunity to hang out with baby snow leopards, a baby kangaroo and a penguin! For animal lovers Jill and Chris, it couldn’t be better! Sure, we dodged the rain a few times, but they didn’t let a few drops get in the way of enjoying their day. My assistant Carmen and I had a total blast and couldn’t get enough of the animals! In fact, this was the first wedding held at the exhibit, and I thought everything was so perfect.
Also, Jill and Chris had an unplugged ceremony, which was amazing! They wanted their guests to enjoy being in the moment with them instead of behind a camera. I’m sure the guests enjoyed and it sure made my job a lot easier!
Thanks to Carmen Hall for second shooting, and to Janeen Holmes for shooting their photobooth!
