Emily and Steve booked me for their wedding just a month before their big day, and I am so glad that they did! They had the most cozy and laid back day, and it was absolutely beautiful. Can you believe Emily’s dress was custom made – by her mother?!
The forecast claimed an 80% of rain, which was daunting – but all we got was about 20 minutes of light rain during the first look, so we ducked underneath the awning at the Doubletree hotel downtown. Photography was especially important to Emily and Steve, who planned for a first look before I met with them, and budgeted for plenty of time to visit several locations for portraits. So after a few tears at the first look and the rain passed, we were on our way to the Scioto Mile and Topiary Garden for portraits, before settling at the Kelton House in the German Village for their wedding celebration.
Their wedding party consisted of adorable flower girls and ring bearers – two each – who took their time walking down the aisle. You could tell they had so much support from their family and friends. You can tell Steve is the jokester between them, and there were plenty of laughter to go around. Their intimate ceremony was followed by cocktail hour in the garden beneath hanging umbrellas, dinner and cake cutting inside, and then plenty of dancing outside as the sun set.
I had such a blast capturing Emily and Steve’s wedding day!
