It’s such an amazing thing when clients become friends! Allison and Jonathan, who were referred to me by my photog bestie & rabbi Leigh Ann Kopans, and with whom I already had plenty of mutual friends, have become friends of mine since we shot their epic engagement pictures last fall. (We ran into Gordon Gee!) And since they’ve moved back to Columbus and bought a home, our pups have become buddies, too. So it goes without saying that I was super excited to shoot their wedding!
When a major storm hit Columbus two days before the wedding, leaving much of the city without power, *including their venue and caterer*, things were a bit tense for a moment, but family and friends came together to come up with a solution. I was on the phone myself! Allison’s maid of honor Katie in particular came up with the master plan, having the ceremony and reception at the Bexley Jewish Community Center, and reorganized the entire wedding within 24 hours. Katie was nothing short of a miracle worker!
So as planned, Allison and Jonathan were married on Sunday, July 1, 2012, with a slight change of venue and missing a few tiers of cake. When you look through the images from their first look at Ohio Stadium, followed by their beautiful ceremony (officiated by Leigh Ann!) and rockin’ reception, you would have no idea that they had planned anything different. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
