I was so excited to finally shoot Jayna and Ben’s engagement session because this would be the first time I actually got to meet them! Jayna and Ben live in Washington, D.C. and made the trip to Cleveland to visit family and work on wedding plans, and while they were here, I traveled up to Cleveland to shoot their engagement pictures. Jayna is from Cleveland, and as an archivist she knew where she wanted to go for her engagement shoot – museums! So, naturally, we visited both the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Cleveland Museum of Art during our session. We had such a great time getting some really interesting and beautiful images with the museum exhibits as our backdrop. No flash photography is allowed in either museum, so this was the perfect time to test out my brand new Canon 5D Mark III’s amazing ISO capabilities! Afterwards, we visited Jayna’s hometown of Bay Village and took a trip to the beach. They weren’t afraid to get a little dirty, or wet, as soon the sandals came off and toes went both in the water and in the sand. Being from Cleveland myself, I relished in the opportunity to visit the beach. I fact, I think we could use a sandy beach in Columbus! Jayna and Ben were so adorable during their session and, I think, look amazing in these pictures. Can’t wait for their July wedding!
