Columbus Ohio In-Home Maternity Session: Becca + Jacob

When my friend Becca told me she and her husband Jacob were expecting, it seems like right away we were planning their spring maternity session. We had locations in mind, Becca had a dress on order, hair and nail appointments scheduled. And then those plans flew out the window when she got the unexpected news that she was being put on bed rest for the remainder of her pregnancy, just two weeks before our scheduled session.

We were bummed for a moment but then I had visions of a casual in-home maternity session, and I was so excited for it again!! I’ve always wanted to shoot a maternity session like this one! In fact, I’d love to shoot more couples sessions right in their home.

We used their bedroom and newly completed nursery as backdrops, all in the home they just purchased a few months ago. We ended our session with a few bare belly shots.

Their daughter Sadie was actually born just under 2 weeks later, more pictures of her will be coming to the blog soon as well!

And you can check out their November 2014 wedding too while you’re at it!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
