It felt like fall made its arrival on the first day of September, just in time for Michelle + Nate’s wedding day! Their day was full of German Village goodness, from their St. Leo’s Church ceremony, to their Schiller Park portraits, and their Via Vecchia Winery reception! It was a particularly windy day, which made some fun images with Michelle’s cathedral length veil in the Via Vecchia alley!
My assistant Chris joined me for the day, and we started our day separately – Chris with the guys at their apartment, and myself with the girls at the Westin hotel downtown. After each side got dressed, and Michelle and Nate read notes from each other, we headed to St. Leo’s for their Catholic ceremony.
Michelle and Nate did not see each other until the ceremony, which made it so special as Michelle came down the aisle. Their full mass ceremony was followed by outdoor exit with all their guests. From there, they hopped in their limo to head to portraits – but first, Nate had to make a beer stop!
When we did make it to Schiller Park, it was chilly, windy and there were even a few raindrops here and there – but Michelle and Nate and their wedding party were totally up for whatever it took to get some great portraits! We then traveled to their reception venue, Via Vecchia Winery, for additional portraits in their fabulous alley!
But now their party had just begun! Just after toasts, Michelle’s parents surprised the couple with a performance by the Ohio State Alumni Band! As both are huge Buckeye fans and Michelle herself was in the marching band, they absolutely loved it. After dinner, first dances, cake cutting, bouquet and garter tosses, guests danced the night away!
Congratulations to Michelle + Nate!
