Abby + Sean’s wedding was the day before the first day of Spring, and despite some light rain in the morning, and chilly temps later in the day, we had a wonderful spring wedding day all over Columbus that ended with beautiful evening light! And there were so many personal touches throughout the day that made their wedding day feel uniquely “them.”
On the 3rd Saturday in March, my second shooter Steve Hronek joined me in starting out the day with each side as they got ready – myself with the girls at Abby and Sean’s new home in Powell, and Steve with the guys at the Hilton at Easton. Once the girls were dressed, we joined the guys at the Hilton at Easton and staged Abby and Sean’s first look on the hotel’s back patio. From there we jumped into their trolley to visit the Ohio Statehouse for portraits, where we found some beautiful spring flowers, before making our way to St. Francis of Assisi Church for their wedding events to begin.
After their Catholic ceremony, Abby had a change of clothes – a shorter, white cocktail dress, complete with hot pink leggings and equally fun shoes! We headed over to their reception venue, the Gahanna Sanctuary, where the sunset light emerged from behind the clouds, and we shot some additional portraits outside in Abby’s second dress. At their cocktail hour, guests enjoyed yummy appetizers and a very extensive bloody mary bar! At their reception, guests enjoyed even more treats after dinner, including made-to-order bananas foster and a s’mores bar!
And since these two came to me through my prior wedding clients Jill + Jonathan – the brides are cousins – it was so fun to see so many familiar faces!
Congratulations to Abby and Sean – two lawyers who made a perfectly sweet merger!
