Happy 10th wedding anniversary to Becca + Jacob, who were friends before they became clients, but honestly became even closer to us in the years since. The wedding day was just the beginning! As their official exclusive family photographer, I’ve been a part of so many of their milestones over the years, including babies, other people’s weddings, and even some unexpected tough moments too. Yesterday was rough. Like many of you, I’m feeling a mix of anger and heartbreak over the election results. Please know I will never stop showing up for queer and trans folks, women, people of color, and other marginalized communities. There will always be space here to love and live authentically and proudly. Inclusivity and advocacy have been at the forefront of my work since day one, and that will continue.

I would love to share a positive from the election - @christine_cockley is going to the Statehouse! I was honored to take her campaign photos right before she kicked things off, here’s just one of them that got a lot of circulation. So happy to have been a part of it, and I can’t wait to see all the great things she’ll do for her community and our state!

October has come and gone, and we are way overdue

October has come and gone, and we are way overdue for a family (& more) photo dump! As usual, I had many families throughout my busiest month of the year, but also some seniors, graduates, anniversaries, maternity sessions, and some commercial work too (I’ll save those for a future post). The fall color looked a bit uncertain earlier this season, but then it ended up happening right on schedule. Many leaves were thrown! And the season’s not over yet 🍁

Yesterday evening, Anthony told Nicole he was taking her to a work event at @canopycolumbus. He even designed a fake flyer for it! Needless to say, she was totally surprised when they showed up to a private rooftop decorated with candles, flowers, and pictures of them as a couple over the past 10 years together. (They were high school sweethearts!) He dropped to one knee, popped the question, and she said yes! 💍 Their closest family then joined them to celebrate. Congratulations!
