Franklin Park Conservatory LGBTQ Wedding: Kristin + Rachel

On unexpected snowy days in late March, we could use a tropical escape! Kristin + Rachel planned well for their brunch wedding at Franklin Park Conservatory. I’ll be dreaming of that caramel brulee french toast for a long time… also can we talk about Rachel’s wearable florals?!

I’m not necessarily a big morning person, but bring me all the queer brunch weddings! We began our day super early at their apartment… 7am start time! We continued with their first look and portraits at the Conservatory. Rachel’s wearable florals by The Flowerbee Blooms were a surprise to Kristin, and her reaction at the first look was everything! They also exchanged private vows after their first look, and I was a big fan of this sweet moment. Despite the cold temps, I convinced the brides and their wedding party to step outside for some photos, because there were blooming trees just outside the building! Worth it? I think so!

Their ceremony followed, under the palm trees in the Palm House. And then it was time to celebrate! Their brunch meal was exceptional, again, I will be dreaming of that caramel brulee french toast for a long time. And to top it off, they had a donut tower… worth having a brunch wedding *just* for that alone! After toasts, cake cutting and a first dance, we danced the afternoon away while DJ Dayna spun the tunes. To end our time together, we escaped the reception for a brief moment for some portraits in the butterfly room!

Congratulations to the newlyweds!!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
