German Village Winter Micro Wedding: Liz + Brian

Last wedding of 2020!! It was a sweet little winter wonderland for Liz + Brian’s small celebration in German Village. From spring in CA to winter in OH, these lovebirds reimagined their day in the most charming way!

We started at LeVeque Tower Hotel in downtown Columbus that third Saturday in December. After both sides were dressed, I staged the couple’s first look right outside their front doors. It was a bit chilly for these Californians, so we tok advantage of the main lobby of the hotel for some indoor shots. Luckily this hotel has a gorgeous lobby! From there, we headed to German Village and Schiller Park for portraits, looking for every holiday touch in the charming streets, and any bit of lingering snow we could find! We ended at their church, First Community Church in Grandview, joining their wedding party and family for more portraits before their ceremony began.

Their ceremony, with just about 20 people present, followed, and as day turned to night, friends and family came by to congratulate the couple in a car parade! The celebration continued back in German Village, at Schmidt’s Restaurant. The couple celebrated with dinner, toasts, and a cutting of a cream puff! It was a special and intimate and a total pleasure to be a part of. Congratulations to Liz and Brian!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
