I couldn’t have asked for a more fantastic couple for this Columbus Zoo wedding – they completely embraced the day exactly as it came! Many couples obsess over the details and the weather forecast, but Amanda and Jon accepted the inevitable misty day, and went forward with an outdoor ceremony regardless!
Getting ready separately – Jon at the AC Marriott in Dublin, and Amanda in an RV on-site at Watersedge at the Zoo – my assistant Dianna and I split up to provide equal coverage of both sides. Amanda and Jon didn’t see each other until the walk down the aisle. The lakeside boardwalk was wet from the rain and guests framed the couple with umbrellas. They had the BEST expressions as they were announced married and exited back down the aisle!
Immediately afterwards, it was chilly and wet, so we did portraits with family and wedding party as quickly as possible. After the couple had some time with the zoo animals – a sloth, penguin, and skunk – their guests celebrated the night with cake, toasts, dinner and dancing. We ended the night with some night shots in the rain that were epic in every sense of the word!
