Columbus Ohio Family Session at Quarry Trails Metro Park: The B Family

Just about 10 years ago, I photographed Amy + Nick’s wedding! Ever since, they’ve been inviting me back into their lives to document more life’s milestones, including newborn sessions for each of their children, and family sessions in between. Our latest session was last month at Quarry Trails Metro Park. It was a Friday morning in late August, we had just endured a particularly brutal stretch of rain in the past couple of weeks, which impacted my clients directly! But they were not going to pass up a beautiful sunny morning for photos. Plus, we were sure we’d have a full waterfall at Milliken Falls.

My favorite part about family sessions is just letting a family be together, letting the kids be kids, and documenting their time together. Once we got to the falls, they had no problem walking along the rocks and taking in the scenery together. They tossed rocks, splashed, got on shoulders, and gave each other hugs and kisses. And of course, a snack break!

I look forward to continuing to document this family as their children grow!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
