Anna + Noah didn’t let a little rain get in the way of their joyous, colorful big day at Oak Grove at Jorgensen Farms! They were married in a greenhouse, with their family, friends, and chosen family, against the sounds of the raindrops hitting the roof. The bride crocheted all the colorful flowers in the bouquets and centerpieces herself! And that was just one of many unique details throughout the day!
It was Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, and our day began with both sides getting ready on-site. My assistant Steve was on-hand all day help cover all angles! These two opted not to see each other until the walk down the aisle, so after both sides were dressed, we took care of some separate portraits ahead of time. We managed to squeeze these in outdoors during a short break in the rain!
Their ceremony in the greenhouse followed, with the rain hitting the glass, it was as dreamy and romantic as you can imagine. I absolutely LOVE rainy wedding days at Oak Grove! Anna and Noah exchanged vows, made a PB&J together, and were married!
We celebrated with portraits after, and using my clear umbrellas, we were able to get some beautiful rainy portraits outside the greenhouse. I’m so glad they didn’t mind a little sprinkle!
The celebration continued into their reception, which included some typical formalities, but also a t-shirt toss, big head cutouts, and, in lieu of a father-daughter dance, the bride asked all the friends who helped her get through the passing of her father, to join her on the dance floor to dance together, to Jimmy Eat World. I’m sure I’m missing some other fun moments, because there were so many!
The rain eventually let up and made wait for a vibrant sunset! So we had to go out for sunset photos, and later, night photos to end the day. Congratulations to the newlyweds, Anna + Noah!
