Franklin Park Conservatory Elopement: Jessica + Alec

Elope in a blizzard?! Heck yes! Jessica + Alec had a courthouse ceremony, just the two of them, on a Friday in mid-December. And the next day, we celebrated with portraits at Franklin Park Conservatory! We happened to get a huge snowstorm that afternoon, and luckily these two were up for some portraits in it, feeling like we were immersed in a real life snow globe!

The couple also wanted some wedding portraits with their pup, so we ended our time together down the street at Jeffrey Park in Bexley, where the snow continued to come down! I absolutely love photographing in the snow, and we all had fun frolicking in this true winter wonderland!

I didn’t quite realize it at the time, but this ended up being my very last time photographing at the Conservatory before their huge renovation began! From now until about late 2027, the Palm House and Showcase will be closed for major renovation. I’m excited for the changes, of course, but I’ll definitely miss these spaces in the meantime!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!

Stunning Amy. Just love these. The snow was a paid actor in these.
