We had a cold snowy day for Maria + David’s winter engagement, and a warm sunny day for their August wedding! And what a day it was – a true non-stop celebration from beginning to end!
We began our day at the Short North Hampton Inn, where each side got ready. Maria + David opted not to see each other until down the aisle at their ceremony, so once each side was dressed, we did separate portraits with their attendants as we made our way down High Street to their church. My assistant Steve was on-hand to cover David’s side, while I covered Maria’s side, timing it just right so that neither of them accidentally crossed paths or caught a glimpse!
The Greek Orthodox Cathedral in downtown Columbus might be the most gorgeous church in town. It had been a few years since my last wedding here, so I was excited to be back! It was indeed a beautiful moment when Maria and David saw each other for the first time on their wedding day down the aisle. Full of cultural traditions, their ceremony was incredibly meaningful.
And now they were married! We celebrated with more portraits during cocktail hour, even taking a quick walk over to Goodale Park against some beautiful light. The couple even made a brief stop at cocktail hour on their way back, taking a quick drink and greeting their guests.
And onto the reception! There were lots of events to celebrate: toasts, cake cutting, first dance, a traditional Greek wedding dance, and a surprise performance by the wedding party! That dance floor stayed packed all night. What a day! Congratulations!!
