Columbus Ohio Statehouse Micro Wedding: Ellie + Robert

After planning and postponing and delaying some more, Ellie + Robert finally threw together their sweet micro wedding in just a handful of weeks, and it all came together the first Friday in October. I love these small weekday weddings and even after the pandemic behind us, I hope these are here to stay!

We began our time at the Le Meredien Joseph Hotel, where Ellie and Robert had their first look on the second floor art gallery space overlooking High Street. From there, we took portraits at the nearby Short North streets, found some pockets of magic at Goodale Park, made a quick unplanned stop at the Scioto Mile for a skyline shot, and ended our trip at the Ohio Statehouse, where family and friends were waiting for them. Their ceremony followed, with just about 15 or so of their closest family and friends in attendance.

From there, we took our time walking to dinner, getting some more portraits at the Statehouse and in the downtown streets. We ended our time together at Mitchell’s Steakhouse, where their guests were waiting to celebrate with toasts and dinner. We had just a few hours together, but we did so much! Congratulations to Ellie and Robert, I absolutely loved being a part of your special day!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
