Columbus Ohio Elopement Portraits at Ohio State: Yilin + Tianyang

Yilin + Tianyang met at Ohio State, so they had planned a wedding at the Faculty Club on campus this past May. Of course, 2020 had other plans, and they had to cancel… everything. Because they had so much out-of-country family, things were put on hold indefinitely. Then, after we shot their downtown engagement session, with more life changes on the horizon between graduation, a new job and relocation – they decided to elope! A couple of weeks later, we met up at Ohio State’s campus for some celebratory pictures times two – celebrating both their marriage, and Tianyang’s upcoming graduation. It was a quiet Wednesday evening in mid-November, as we explored campus and chased the golden hour light. And now they are in the process of moving to the west coast! What a great way to end their time here in Columbus. Despite all the changes, Yilin + Tianyang made the best of it, and I loved working with them!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
