Columbus Ohio LGBTQ Micro Wedding Photographer: Janelle + Parker

Like many 2020 couples, Janelle + Parker had to make some big changes to their wedding day because of covid-19. But the date of 9/18/20 had special meaning to them – so much so, they set their date more than 2 years out! Even though they moved their larger celebration to 2021, nothing would stop them from getting married on their original date. And so it happened, in the backyard of their Worthington home! And with myself on photo and Kim of Picture of Love on video, we documented the day!

They kept so many of their plans and details in tact, and every single aspect was selected with intention. Janelle and Parker got ready together, and once dressed we headed down the road to Old Worthington for portraits. Along with beautiful vine walls and brick alleys, we couldn’t resist taking advantage of the rainbow bench in front of Sassafras Bakery. And I especially loved the couple’s ability to have a sense of humor about it all, with some funny photos over beers.

Back at their house, Janelle and Parker were married at sunset with a handful of their closest family, sealing the deal with shots of tequila! Afterwards, they greeted their guests watching via Zoom, danced on their patio beneath strung lights, enjoyed drinks in pineapple cups and donuts from a local bakery. Can’t wait to get back together and celebrate again in September 2021!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!

    Amy Ann,
I have never seen wedding photographs where the couples love and lack of stress and just sheer enjoyment and exuberance comes through so beautifully! While I know you had two excellent subjects for the photos, the lack of posing makes these photos a joy to behold.

I especially love them because, as a Zoom participant to the wonderful event, I missed a lot of the interaction and detail of Parker’s dress, etc. These photos are almost like being there. Thank you for this beautiful replay! I’m sure Janelle and Parker are thrilled.
