Columbus Short North Queer Engagement: Dana + JC

Likely my last blog post for 2019! Dana and JC first came to me just to book their fall engagement (which later evolved into chatting about wedding photography of course), but this session was this important to them that we set the date right away! All three of our calendars are a bit crazy and after one rain reschedule, we actually ended up shooting on December 1 (still technically fall!). Nevertheless, you wouldn’t know it by the pictures. It was a beautiful fall-esque Sunday, with gorgeous morning light and some fall leaves still lingering on a couple trees. We began at Goodale Park by the pond, gravitating to all the fall color and nice light we could find, and then crossed the street to get some more neighborhood shots. These two are getting married on a rooftop in Cleveland next fall, so it was only fitting we ended our session with some shots at the top of a parking garage rooftop overlooking the city. This session definitely has me looking forward to their Cleveland wedding next year!!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
