My last wedding of 2016! What a delightful winter day with Timi + Alex, a perfect way to end the year, at my favorite venues in in downtown Columbus and with a truly fabulous couple!
We began our day getting ready at the Hampton Inn & Suites in the Short North on a Saturday in mid-December. Timi and Alex each got ready in different rooms of the hotel, which made covering both of them on my own very easy. I just loved Timi’s dress – so sleak and timeless, and easy to walk around in!
As soon as everyone was dressed, we headed to the Hilton one block down the road, where we staged their first look on the skywalk overlooking High Street. This is one of my favorite spots in Columbus and provided a colorful and modern backdrop! Timi and Alex kept this moment to themselves, which I find to be so important on an otherwise crowded and hectic wedding day!
From there, we met up with their wedding party in the heart of downtown at the Ohio Statehouse. It was a cold day with bits of on-and-off rain, so it was great to have an indoor location secure for the afternoon. We completed their wedding party portraits in the bright Atrium, took advantage of the holiday decor, and ducked outside for a quick wedding party shot in between sprinkles. The wedding party was such great sports with the unpredictable weather!
Now it was time to head to Franklinton, to their wedding venue – Strongwater Food & Spirits – to kick off the main events of the day! But first, we shot a couple more portraits in their courtyard and used my cute clear umbrella to protect against the rain. Their ceremony followed in the indoor space, as the sun began to set, creating a twilight feel to the moment. Their ceremony was full of sweet moments and laughter!
After their ceremony, Timi + Alex took me up on a couple more portraits on the newly formed fog just across the street, and enjoyed a moment to themselves just married. Their celebration continued back inside, with their first dance, dinner, toasts, cake cutting, and plenty of awesome moves on the dance floor!
