Dana + Alisha: Columbus Ohio LGBTQ+ Wedding at High Line Car House

As we head into Pride Weekend here in Columbus, it just so happens that I am working through the images from Dana + Alisha’s spring wedding, so I can’t help but share my favorites! What better way to ring in Pride? Dana + Alisha planned a very sweet wedding day in downtown Columbus, at one of my favorite venues, the High Line Car House in the Brewery District.

It was a quiet, overcast Friday afternoon in late April when I joined the ladies as they got ready at the Hyatt downtown. Kerry Smith was on hand perfecting makeup for each of them, and as they switched off, I stole each of their dresses to hang them side-by-side in a third room. Once each of them was dressed, I staged their first look in a nearby little-known alley that I adore. Their small wedding party then joined us as we headed to German Village for portraits. What a perfect afternoon! The light was perfect, temperature was comfortable and flowers were in bloom.

Our trip ended at the site of their wedding festivities – the High Line Car House. Their ceremony was so meaningful, featuring readings and performances from loved ones that blew me away! Their super fun reception followed, with Ryan Smith spinning the tunes. And we couldn’t end the night without a dramatic sunset shot! Congratulations to these ladies, and thank you for choosing me to capture your special day!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
