Victoria + Naum: Columbus Ohio Destination Wedding in Dominican Republic

I couldn’t have been more honored to be invited by Victoria + Naum to Dominican Republic to capture their destination wedding! I’ve traveled to many weddings across the US, but never a true beach wedding in the Caribbean! Victoria + Naum live in Columbus and have several friends who are clients of mine. They also invited Columbus makeup artist State of Face Makeup Artistry to join us in perfecting their big day!08

At Dreams Resort in La Romana, about 45 minutes outside Punta Cana, 40 or so of their closest family and friends gathered for their big day, right in the middle of a week-long vacation together. Though we were greeted with rain at the beginning of the day, we remained optimistic! We found a covered spot to stay dry during the first look, after which the rain cleared and we took advantage of the beautiful light that appeared! After some couples and wedding party portraits, the rain returned and we took refuge at a pretty nearby patio which made for nice portraits as well!

More rain continued and in the end, affected their plans for a beachside ceremony. But Victoria + Naum didn’t let the change of scenery dampen their spirits! Their Jewish ceremony took place on a nearby covered patio, still open-air to appreciate the tropical setting. Their reception continued, with lively dancing, fun sunset and night shots, and surprise fireworks!

I can’t thank Victoria + Naum for this amazing experience and opportunity! It was an honor to capture their wedding! Returning to land-locked Columbus was not easy!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
