Brittany + Nick: Columbus Ohio Surprise Proposal

When Nick contacted me to shoot his upcoming proposal to his girlfriend, Brittany, I was so excited, because he had everything already all planned out! He was going to surprise her at their apartment after work on Friday afternoon. Nick cleared out the dining area in their apartment for the space where he would propose; he decorated their place with flowers, candles, framed photographs of their adventures together, and the countless cards and letters Brittany had written to him over the years. There were so many beautiful notes, I was so impressed – both with how many she wrote, but also his ability to save them all! Their love is truly something special. But the best detail of all – their Cavalier-Poodle mix, Jerry, dressed in a tux, was perhaps the most excited of all. Waiting for Brittany to come home from work that afternoon was a little nerve-wrecking for us, but Nick set up a ruse to ensure we could predict a pretty narrow window of time she’d arrive – he had the apartment complex email her that they were working on her apartment until 4pm! Well done, Nick. I’d say Brittany was quite shocked and estatic when she entered the front door and Nick dropped to one knee!

It was a pleasure meeting these two (and Jerry too!) and capturing this very special moment for them as it happened. Happy wedding planning, Brittany + Nick!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
