Tina + Matt: Columbus Ohio Spring Engagement at Hoover Dam

When I first met Tina + Matt, one of the questions they threw at me was, “What is something you’ve always wanted to shoot?” Admittedly, this was a curve ball for me because at consultations I am in full wedding photography mode! But together we came up with a concept for their engagement session. With their wedding to be this fall at the brand new Joseph Hotel in the Short North in downtown Columbus, I proposed a more natural setting for their engagement, perhaps with a waterfront; Tina and Matt suggested a more low-key, moodier look than I typically shoot. And so their engagement session on a Sunday evening in mid-April was a beautiful, warm evening with soft warm light as the sun set, against a waterfront and dramatic bare branches. Take a look!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
