Lora + Ty: Columbus Ohio Summer Wedding at Taylor Mansion

I first met Lora and Ty at their German Village engagement this past February, and we hit it off right away. They are such a calm and laid back couple, and they fit together so perfectly. Ever since their engagement, I was looking forward to their wedding day, and meeting their two boys!

My day started with Ty and his groomsmen, getting ready at the Renaissance hotel downtown. We then headed to Taylor Mansion, where all the wedding festivities would take place, to join Lora and her girls as they got ready. The day was overcast and sprinkled rain on and off all day, but Lora and Ty didn’t let it get to them! When the time came for their ceremony, the rain completely went away and they were able to have it outdoors as planned. The ceremony was held in the space in front of the beautiful Taylor Mansion, and the reception continued in their tent in the back. In between, we took some portraits on the grounds of the mansion and in the alley nearby. The property is absolutely beautiful and offers plenty of portrait opportunities!

Lora completely wowed in her dress – one of the most unique dresses I’ve ever seen! One of my favorite moments of the day was when their boys joined them towards the end of their first dance. A detail I really enjoyed was their salad bar! What an amazing idea! After dinner, Lora changed into a shorter, more comfortable cocktail dress to dance the night away. Pete Downhour of Midwest DJ Pro kept the dance floor rocking!

Congratulations to Lora and Ty, and their boys – what a beautiful family!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
