Jayna + Ben: Bay Village / Downtown Cleveland Ohio Catholic English Oak Room Wedding

I’ve been so looking forward to Jayna and Ben’s wedding, ever since our gorgeous engagement session visiting museums and the beach earlier this spring! Their Cleveland wedding was filled with beautiful details that were absolutely classic and romantic; Jayna looked stunning in her J. Crew dress!

I joined Jayna, her family and her bridesmaids as they got ready at her family’s home in Bay Village; soon after we headed down the street to St. Raphael’s Catholic Church for their wedding ceremony. Jayna and Ben budgeted plenty of time before the reception for pictures, so we returned to Jayna’s family home for pictures in their backyard; then on the way downtown, we visited the church where Jayna’s grandparents were married, followed by the West Side Market! Being from Cleveland, I grew up going to the West Side Market, and I was so excited to shoot wedding portraits there!  We had a lot of fun there, weaving our way through the crowds and hearing all the well-wishes from the vendors! From there, we headed to the reception at the English Oak Room at Tower City, but not before getting some more portraits at the Renaissance Hotel, Public Square and in the Tower City lobby. The historic architecture complimented their wedding theme wonderfully, and the English Oak Room was the perfect backdrop to continue that theme into the reception!

Jayna and Ben decided to forgo the traditional wedding reception events, in favor of an extended cocktail hour and dinner (so they actually got a chance to mingle with their guests and enjoy their food!), followed by toasts and cake cutting that transitioned right into open dancing for the remainder of the evening. The English Oak Room is especially dark, so I brought my husband along to provide some extra lighting, and I am thrilled with the results!

Jayna and Ben are a sweet couple who focused on enjoying their day and not getting caught up in all the distracting little details, and it made for a wonderful day for them and their guests.

Congratulations to Jayna and Ben, and enjoy some images from their lovely Cleveland wedding!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
